(RO) In ciuda frumusetii si farmecului ei, Strada Xenofon a fost uitata si lasata in paragina ani de zile, asta pana cand Initiative Romania si artista Eva Radu s-au hotarat sa aduca un pic de culoare in vietile bucurestenilor si sa readuca la viata asadar unul din secretele urbane ale capitalei.
8 simboluri ale Bucurestiului au fost pictate pe treptele strazii, iar data de 10 iulie 2014 a marcat ”lansarea oficiala” a unui nou capitol in istoria strazii care te duce in cel mai inalt punct din Bucuresti si care e si singura in trepte din oras.
Incepand cu Ateneul Roman, cei care vor pasi pe treptele strazii Xenofon vor fi intampinati de replici in miniatura ale Arcului de Triumf, Mausoleului din Parcul Carol, Casei Poporului, Muzeului National de Arta, Muzeului Taranului Roman, Teatrului National si a cladirii Operei.
Strada, care se afla in apropierea Parcului Carol, duce spre Dealul Filaret si Hotel Carol Park, iar panorama pe care o ofera vizitatorilor sai este una absolut superba.
Nu ratati sansa de a admira Bucurestiul de sus si mai ales de a va plimba pe strazile vechi ale sectorului 4.
Bucharest’s only staired street gets revamped
(EN) In spite of its beauty and charm, The Xenofon Street has been forgotten and left unloved by locals and visitors alike for way too long. Fortunately, this changed in summer 2014 when Initiative Romania and artist Eva Radu decided to unite their forces and paint the stairs of the street in an attempt to bring more colour to the life of Bucharesters, while also revive one of the city’s hidden secrets.
Therefore, 8 symbols of the capital were painted on the street’s stairs, and the project was officially launched on July 2014 when replicas of the Romanian Athenaeum, Carol Park’s Mausoleum, People’s House, The National Art Museum, The Romanian Peasant Museum, National Theater and the Opera were finalised and ready to welcome visitors.
The street which is Bucharest’s only staired street and the one to take one to the capital’s highest point is located in District 4, near Park Carol and is set to offer you a lovely panorama.
If you ever travel to Bucharest, don’t miss out on the opportunity to admire both Xenofon Street and the surrounding historical area.
