This is just a small glimpse of how much Venice has to offer. Having spent 3 days in the Venetian lagoon, I didn’t have enough time to see everything in the area. I highly recommend it as a weekend get-away, nonetheless if you want to travel around the somewhat lesser known islands of Murano, Burano, Lido or Torcello, you need to spend at least 4 to 5 days in the region.
Great food, the central island of Venice is well-organised, while the timing couldn’t have been better – mid March, just before the tourist season kicks in and one week before the Easter break.
