I discovered this band, Lenacay, from Barcelona, at this year’s Migrations Festival @ Luxexpo in Luxembourg, on Saturday night when they played a nice fusion of flamenco, rock and rumba music.
I am a big fan of flamenco and latin music, therefore, their music appealed to me instantly, but irrespective of one’s music tastes, the lead singer Paola Domniguez has an amazing voice, mastering flamenco as perfectly as hard rock or alternative beats. Moreover, the band’s other female member, Carolina Morgado, dances flamenco during their shows, which really brings value to their overall performance.
LENACAY is an experimental music project that fuses flamenco and different languages of musical expression. It´s an innovative journey through time that runs from flamenco roots and culture, to electronic beats, rumba melodies and rythm patterns, funky basslines and electric guitars.
If you haven’t heard of this band before, make sure you check their official website and Youtube account.
